IHRA, University of Colombo, Explores Academic Partnership with Keimyung College University, Republic of Korea

The Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo, is exploring an academic partnership with Keimyung College University (KMCU), Republic of Korea, to strengthen Korean language education, workplace readiness training, and international educational collaboration.

The proposed partnership aims to support the development of structured Korean language training programmes, including preparation for Korean language proficiency examinations, teacher training, curriculum development, short-term educational programmes, tourism and interpretation training, and opportunities for academic exchange.

A key focus of this initiative is to strengthen IHRA’s proposed Korean Language and Workplace Readiness Programme, which seeks to equip Sri Lankan youth and prospective overseas workers with the language proficiency, cultural awareness, and workplace competencies required to pursue employment and educational opportunities in the Republic of Korea.

The proposed collaboration also seeks to explore opportunities for student and staff exchanges, joint educational initiatives, and the sharing of academic expertise between the two institutions.

This initiative reflects IHRA’s continued commitment to advancing human resource development, expanding international academic partnerships, and creating opportunities for Sri Lankan learners to develop globally relevant skills.

Through this proposed collaboration, IHRA aims to contribute to stronger educational ties between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea while supporting the development of a skilled, competent, and internationally competitive workforce.
