01 | Introduction |
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA) at the University of Colombo was established on January 1, 2017, in accordance with commission circular no 04/2015. The IQAC plays a pivotal role in upholding and improving the overall quality of academic and non-academic activities within the Institute. | |
02 | Objectives |
The primary objective of the IQAC is to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement across various facets of the Institute’s operations. This encompasses academic programs, research endeavors, administrative processes, student support services, and infrastructure development, among other areas. The IQAC aims to ensure that the Institute maintains elevated standards and strives for excellence in all its endeavors. | |
03 | Scope of Monitoring |
The IQAC consistently monitors and evaluates key areas to guarantee the Institute’s commitment to high standards. This includes regular assessments of academic programs, research activities, administrative procedures, student support services, and infrastructure development. Through this vigilant oversight, the IQAC seeks to identify areas for improvement and implement measures to enhance overall quality. | |
04 | Collaboration with IQAC |
Operating in close coordination with the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU) of the University of Colombo, the IQAC of IHRA ensures that quality enhancement efforts are seamlessly integrated throughout the institution. This collaborative approach aims to maintain a consistent and high standard of education and activities within the Institute. By aligning with the IQAU, the IQAC contributes to the overall reputation of the University, fostering excellence within the academic community and beyond. |

The Quality Assurance (QA) Cell of the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo was established with a mandate to create a culture that seeks to continually improve the quality of all academic and other activities in the Institute. | ||
02 | Committee Composition and Meetings | |
a. | Membership:
The coordinator shall be appointed by the Board of Management of the Institute. |

b. | Quorum: Shall be 50% of the membership. | |
c. | Meetings: The Committee shall meet at least once in two months. It may also consider matters by correspondence. | |
d. | Terms of Office: Terms of office for appointed members of this committee will be three years. | |
