Practical Workshop Session for Master of Science in Disaster Analysis Management and Mitigation- Batch No:05

A practical Fire Exercise Training Session was successfully conducted for students as part of the academic training program, with the participation of around 40 firefighters and students. The program was held at the Fire Brigade Headquarters and the Training Centre, Wellawatte.

The training session was led by Mr. Kamla Wilson, Chief Fire Officer, together with Mr. Hiran Thilakarathne, Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC). The sessions provided hands-on experience and practical knowledge on fire safety procedures, emergency response techniques, and fire-fighting exercises, enhancing students’ preparedness for real-world disaster scenarios.

This training program was organized under the supervision and guidance of the Program Coordinator, Prof. W. S. Chandrasekara. The initiative contributed significantly to strengthening students’ practical skills and understanding of fire risk management and emergency response mechanisms.
