The Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo successfully conducted the Project Report Progress Presentation Workshop and Field Visit for the Master of Business Management (MBM) Batch 13 (2024/2025 – Foreign Students) on 17th and 18th January 2026 at the Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort, Tangalle.
The programme brought together MBM students for an intensive academic and experiential learning experience aimed at strengthening their research capabilities and practical business understanding. The workshop focused on reviewing project progress, enhancing research quality, and guiding students toward producing academically rigorous and industry-relevant research outputs.
The programme was enriched by the expertise and guidance of the distinguished resource persons:

- Mr. K. D. N. Hewage, Senior Lecturer, IHRA, University of Colombo
- Prof. Athula C. Gnanapala, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Sabaragamuwa
A key highlight of the programme was the project progress presentation sessions, where students showcased their research work and received constructive and insightful feedback from academic staff and resource persons. These sessions enabled students to refine their research direction, methodology, and analytical approach while fostering a culture of academic dialogue and scholarly improvement.
Complementing the academic component, the field visit and interactive training sessions provided students with valuable exposure to real-world business environments, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Guided discussions encouraged critical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of management concepts in practical settings.
The workshop served as a significant platform for collaborative learning, peer engagement, and professional growth, further reinforcing IHRA’s commitment to delivering high-quality postgraduate education and producing competent business leaders equipped to face contemporary managerial challenges.
