It is with great responsibility and forward-looking optimism that I welcome you to the Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo.
As a leading institute dedicated to human resource education and development, IHRA continues to evolve in response to the changing national and global higher education landscape.
Aligned with national priorities, particularly the need to widen participation and ensure equitable access to higher education under the principle of Freedom of Education, IHRA remains committed to expanding opportunities for learners from diverse backgrounds. As one of the key institutes under the University of Colombo, we are proud to build upon a distinguished academic legacy, strong institutional reputation, and strategic strengths.
While acknowledging existing challenges, including the need for further advancement in physical and digital infrastructure, we are actively addressing these through innovation, collaboration and the development of sustainable educational services. Our goal is to effectively meet the growing demand for human resource development and professional advancement.
IHRA aspires to be a centre of excellence in teaching, learning, research and entrepreneurship in human resource studies. Achieving this requires collective effort, adaptability and a willingness to move beyond conventional approaches to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities.
We remain dedicated to strengthening our contribution to human capital development in Sri Lanka while enhancing our visibility nationally, regionally and globally. By continuously improving the quality and relevance of our academic and training programmes, promoting research and innovation, and strengthening institutional systems and infrastructure, we aim to further establish IHRA as a premier centre in human resource education and development.
With the dedication of our staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders, I am confident that IHRA will continue to grow with purpose and resilience, contributing meaningfully to building a progressive society in an interconnected world.
