The Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo, successfully conducted its Two-Day Staff Workshop under the theme “Team Building through Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills” at Club Hotel Dolphin, Waikkal, on 28–29 May 2026.
The workshop brought together IHRA staff members in an engaging environment aimed at strengthening teamwork, enhancing communication, and promoting professional and interpersonal growth.
The welcome speech was conducted by Prof DAC Suranga Silva Director/IHRA. The programme commenced with the inaugural session led by distinguished resource persons Prof. WS Chandrasekara and Dr. Wijayantha Ukwatte, who delivered insightful discussions on effective communication and interpersonal skills development within organizational settings. Mr. C Maliyadda, Senior Adviser to the Government and a member of the Board of Management of the Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo, also actively participated, adding valuable insights and support to the event.
The workshop also provided opportunities for networking and team interaction through an evening fellowship programme.
On the second day, participants actively engaged in OBT Sessions and Team Building Games facilitated by Mr. Suranga Tennakoon, CEO/MD – Sustainable Leadership Management Pvt Ltd, fostering collaboration, leadership, and practical team-building experiences.
The workshop concluded successfully, reflecting IHRA’s continued commitment to cultivating a collaborative, motivated, and high-performing institutional culture.
