The Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), University of Colombo, successfully organized a special Soups and Salads Cookery Workshop for its staff members as part of the International Women’s Day 2026 celebrations. This initiative was organized with the objective of promoting staff wellness, appreciation, and work–life balance through a healthy and engaging learning experience.

The Chef Sharmila Shabdeen, Founder of the academy and a globally recognized culinary demonstrator. The session focused on the preparation of nutritious soups and salads while also sharing practical tips on healthy cooking habits and food presentation.
The programme provided an opportunity for staff members to actively participate in an interactive cooking session while strengthening fellowship and celebrating the spirit of International Women’s Day. Participants highly appreciated the practical knowledge shared during the workshop and the opportunity to experience a unique team-building activity outside the usual work environment.
