Objectives
1. CERTIFICATE IN BASIC KOREAN LANGUAGE (CBKL)
- Express basic grammatical items correctly.
- Write Hangul following the stroke order.
- Understand basic sentence patterns.
- Understand the meaning of basic words in Hangul.
- Understand active listening.
Eligibility to apply for admission as a student to the Certificate in Basic Korean Language (CBKL) programme of the institute rests on the following condition;
She/he has passed the GCE Ordinary Level Examination
2. CERTIFICATE IN INTERMEDIATE KOREAN LANGUAGE (CIKL)
- Enable smooth entry to basic sentence patterns.
- Enable to read and write Hangul and making words, sentences using Hangul.
- Understand simple essays.
- Develop essential spoken communication skills in Korean
- Succeed in sorting out specific information while listening basic conversation.
No person shall be eligible to be admitted to the Certificate in Intermediate Korean Language (CIKL) programme of study leading to the Diploma in Korean Language (DKL), unless she/he satisfies the requirements in paragraphs of (i) or (ii) or (iii):
(i) (a) She/he has passed the GCE (A/L) Examination in four (4) subjects prior to year 2000 in one and the same sitting. OR
(b) She/he has passed the GCE (A/L) Examination in three (3) subjects after year 2000 in one and the same sitting. AND
(c) has reached the qualifying standard in academic ability and readiness as determined under section 7 of these Guidelines by the Institute at the placement test for the Diploma in Korean Language programme. OR
(ii) She/he has passed the Certificate in Basic Korean Language (CBKL) programme offered by the Institute. OR
(iii) She/he has passed the Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK Level 1) within the last two (02) years from the date of calling application.
3. CERTIFICATE IN PRE-ADVANCED KOREAN LANGUAGE (CPKL)
- Understand about Korean culture and the society.
- Improve linguistic culture.
- Enable to make comments.
- Enable to read Hangul in the different ways
- Succeed in imagining and predict while listening basic conversation.
No person shall be eligible to be admitted to the Certificate in Pre-Advanced Korean Language (CPKL) programme of study leading to the Diploma in Korean Language (DKL), unless she/he satisfies the requirements in paragraphs of (i) or (ii) or (iii):
She/he has passed the GCE (A/L) Examination in four (4) subjects prior to year 2000 in one and the same sitting. OR
She/he has passed the GCE (A/L) Examination in three (3) subjects after year 2000 in one and the same sitting. AND
has reached the qualifying standard in academic ability and readiness as determined under section 7 of these Guidelines by the Institute at the placement test for the Diploma in Korean Language programme.
OR She/he has passed the Certificate in Intermediate Korean Language (CIKL) programme offered by the Institute
OR She/he has passed the Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK Level 2) within the last two (02) years from the date of calling application.
4. CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED KOREAN LANGUAGE (CAKL)
No person shall be eligible to be admitted to the Diploma in Korean Language programme of study leading to the Diploma, unless s/he satisfies the requirements in paragraphs of (i) or (ii) or (iii) or and (iv) and (v):
(i) a. She/he has passed GCE (A/L) Examination in four (4) subjects prior to year 2000 in one and same sitting. OR
She/he has passed GCE (A/L) Examination in three (3) subjects after year 2000 in one and same sitting.
OR She/he has passed a Foundation Programme equivalent to the GCE (A/L).
OR She/he has passed GCE (O/L) Examination with accredited work experience or accredited prior learning followed by a relevant programme of study equivalent to a minimum of 30 credits.
AND has reached the qualifying standard in Academic ability and readiness as determined under section 5 (iv) of these By-laws by the Institute at the placement test for the Diploma in Korean Language programme. OR
(ii) She/he has passed the Certificate in Pre-Advanced Korean Language (CPKL) programme offered by the Institute OR
(iii) She/he has passed the test of Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK Level 3) within the last two (02) years from the date of calling application. AND
(iv) She/he demonstrated competence in the relevant field and potential for future career development; AND
(v) She/he has a good working knowledge of the language of instruction of the Diploma programme.

Program Schedule: We offer a comprehensive program on weekdays online lectures held from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
