The Counselling Psychology Unit successfully conducted a Two-Day Practical Workshop for the Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology 2026 (Batch 04) on 06 and 07 June 2026 at Wijaya Holiday Resort, Kiriella.
With the participation of 54 enthusiastic students, the workshop provided an enriching platform for hands-on learning and the practical application of psychological concepts. Through a range of interactive activities and experiential learning sessions, participants had the opportunity to enhance their practical knowledge and develop essential counselling skills.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator, Prof. WS Chandrasekara, with the participation of the Director of the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo, Prof. DAC Suranga Silva. The workshop sessions were facilitated by Mr. PK Koholanegedara, Assistant Director of Preventive Education and Training at the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, and Dr. Wijayantha Ukwatte, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, University of Colombo. Their expertise and practical insights contributed significantly to the success of the programme.
The workshop was a productive and memorable learning experience that strengthened the students’ practical competencies and professional skills in Counselling Psychology, while preparing them to effectively apply their knowledge in professional practice.
