A special meeting was held on 19th February 2026 with the participation of Prof. D.A.C. Suranga Silva, Director, and the Japanese Language Coordinator Mrs. Shirani Kolamage, to discuss further strengthening and developing the Diploma in Japanese Language Programme.
The discussion held with Ms. Reiko Tomiya, Associate Professor at Kanagawa University, Department of Cross-Cultural Studies, Faculty of Cross-Cultural and Japanese Studies and Mr. Oya Susumu, Japanese Language Specialist and representative of the Japanese Language Education Association (JLEA), based at Sasakawa Hall, Colombo 03.
The discussions focused on academic collaboration, curriculum enhancement, quality improvement, and exploring future opportunities to further develop the Diploma in Japanese Language Programme in line with international standards.
The Institute looks forward to strengthening international partnerships and enhancing academic excellence in Japanese language education.
